Walthamstow is alright, it;s a nice commute into town. Everyone bangs on about the village but it's essentially a few (nice) places to eat dreamt up by Estate agents to sell houses to the middle class at inflated rates in a concentrated area. Saying that the Tapas Bar and Eat17 are nice and not too expensive... plus the butcher has awesome sausages.
The Nags Head is a good pub with a nice outside bit, local Leyton brewed ale and a strange fixation with seance esque crushed velvet table toppers... The Castle is alright as well... but the real winner is The Queens Head which has enough screens for all footy delights and dodgy Greek TV broadcasts of football at 3pm.
