that^ sounds more like it.
@Bernie -whatever my friend, every action leads to a reaction, now he has started the thread telling us its on his mind when in that area , theres a chain of events, resulting.Well I have to disagree .. If someone is going to try to steal my stuff and beat the living crap outta me in the process, I have two choices ... Leg it or Knock their block. Don't matter where it is ... chain of events yes .. can we do anything about it .. no.

Tackling them yourself would have been foolish. Alerting the police to their presence could do no harm. mind you when I recently phoned in a pregnant lady being sold crack in front of kids in brockwell park to Brixton police station they put me on hold for ages and then told me to call crimestoppers by which point the people in question had wrapped up their charming affair in the bush. So maybe don't do the logical thing and waste your time and credit on the local police station....

flxh good on ya for your actions.
I would of called the police though just to give them and idea that hoodlums are around that area waiting for their next victim. I would feel guilty if I heard someone else got attacked on that road.
But alas in a situation like that you sometimes don't think about it.
My friend an I cycling near Kingston he was attacked by a car full of weirdo's, one of them wearing a clown outfit... Passed by throwing eggs at him. Although it's only eggs but he could of swerved and went in to a car from the sudden fright. He was adimant to report what happened but I knew that there wasn't any point and wasted 2 hrs combined, finding patroling police and having to file a report at a station. A bit of a shitty outcome because it's so unlikely they'll find them. So situations like that is sometimes pointless unless you're quick enough to memorise the number plate.
As for the assault on kids, the way I see it is if you're attacked by them, I would do all means necessary to protect myself even if I end up braking a few bones. Not completely aware of the law on this so maybe I could get done for that but atleast it'll teach them a lesson. Those injured may be wary next time trying to cause situations again... An attack is an attack, regardless of age. A group of Youths these days will freely do as much harm as one single militant sergeant with pulcating biceps. At the end of the day you have to think about yourself. They could do ANYTHING, so I'm not going to play a game of chance and hope for the best.
That's just my 2cents.
But if we get them to do more walking about, then they'll solve less murders
