Flea probably is a really good Bassist but come on.....who ever went to watch a band for the bassist....apart from bassists?

RHCP - at least Anthony Kiedis got to shag Heidi Klum. But it's mostly inane witterings about how great the west coast is and the pain of heroin addiction.
As for the other lot, Axl Rose' surgery is fucking hilarious.

what was your laST GIG, THEN, EIGHTBALL?
-

fair play, but that's more about you than them, as I can assure you, they is well 'gettable'
I get that they wrote some catchy songs, but the overall sound is so horrible I cannot listen to more than 15 minutes of any beatles record

Adult Oriented Rock
What an embarrassing, turgid expression.

Actually I've remembered it's Album-Orientated Rock, so you're wrong. Still a horrid 'flipchart and committee' bullshit term though.

... 'gaming', shoot em ups, GTA et al. As far as I can tell they're made by cunts, for cunts. And the 'amazing rendering and graphics' and 'really engrossing back story animations' just annoy the shit out of me. (I am making a promo for the 'gaming' industry as we speak, it's fucking dire.) Grown men playing delelelelelerr like they're fucking seven.
And what's really depressing is that these games have a bigger turnover that the film industry.

Can you even talk about modern day G'n'R now in the same way as the late 80's group?
U2? Churning out the same old bobbins every album.

• #39

[QUOTE=Superprecise;1506244]Actually I've remembered it's Album-Orientated Rock/QUOTE]
but what does it mean?

Flea probably is a really good Bassist but come on.....who ever went to watch a band for the bassist....apart from bassists?
Fuck it then, let's just do without them!
It's a team effort, obviously. Flea's contribution is at the forefrint in their music, he's not just some pluck-along bass nodder. You obviously aren't really into music are you? I suppose you like 'anything with a good beat' or 'something you can sing along too'.

Can you even talk about modern day G'n'R now in the same way as the late 80's group?
There's a modern day GNR?
-
• #45
nah......GNR = all that poodle perm/spandex nonsense - fucking shite.
= almost every rock and metal band in the 80s and early 90s.

Mumford and Sons?
west london folk is the technical term for them.
though I enjoy their music, the overplayednessness of the songs is beginning to grate.
and its not just their success, for which I'm happy.
Lucky fuckers. -

what is the 'official' story with VHS over Beta anyway?
Not sure, but the unofficial reason was that both the porn industry and Disney chose to release on VHS.
gwan plinth do get started and explain
I had both (up to going to Uni 97-00) and my Betamax tapes lasted longer and didn't degrade/stretch like VHS did.
The Beatles
I'm so glad someone else said that before me. Not liking the Beatles is like 21st Century leprosy! I don't hate them, I just don't get the hype is all.

i don't 'get' rap! I listened to dizzie rascal at glasto on TV and was amazed by how ordinary it was musically (though i guess the slam poetry aspect is clever -and dylan did it ). The backing singers carried the tiune and then only sporadically.
perhaps i'm too old being bought up on CSN+Y and other west coast marvells like the beatles

^I am so close to that Mustaine do.
a few more months and i am on it.
Flicked through all the music channels on Sky the other day, must be about 20 of em, there was only 5 channels where the 'singing' on the song playing wasn't autotuned.
Modern music = fail.
