I'm a new one and totally get the rules. Still waiting to get out of the nursery but I can understand why. It prevents people with no interest from being able to fill the forums/threads up with time wasting rubbish. Just reading up here has given me an Idea of what is going on where I am and a bit of info on gear I knew nothing about.
Why join a positive community based on something you are into only to introduce yourself by sticking your fingers up to them?
