  • Wednesday evenings, 6PM, Custom House Square. Bike ride.

  • Sounds good. I'll be there. keep an eye out for the guy falling off an old Raleigh

  • Nice one - see you on Wednesday.

  • sorry i couldnt make it tonight, brake troubles - as in looking for a new lever that will fit over the slightly bigger than the rest of the bar ends

    next week fer d's

  • Lads, if you want, I can get a Belfast sub-forum set up for you at dublinfgss. Let me know.

  • Oh yeah there's also going to be a new track/fixed shop opening up somewhere near Christchurch in Dublin, if any of you's are down there.

  • Sub forum sounds great

  • That's been set up by the nice people there:

    http://www.dublinfgss.com/viewforum.php?f=5

Good luck with it. If you need any help, contact the admins at dublinfgss.com.
It would also be better for Belfast people to be moderators of that forum so step up!

But I suggest at some point you get your own domain belfastfgss.com and fire up your own forum. Or at least get a redirecter to that forum with the belfastfgss.com URL. It'll roll off the tongue quicker, and look better on stickers and shit like that.

  • Cheers dublinkev

Cheers for arranging that dublinkev. I agree that it would be better to have a domain specific to Belfast, but have resisted the temptation to set one up so far because I didn't think there would be much demand for it.

So rather than placing extra work on the guys that run the dublin forum I have set up a Belfast one. I'm still doubtful as to whether it'll get much use to be honest but it's there now for anyone who wishes to use it...

    Enjoy.

  • hi guys. i was just wonderng what the fixed gear scene is in belfast and is there a polo scene at all.
coz im looking at uni in belfast

  • i'll stop posting in the one hosted at dublinfgss.com and redirect any visitors to the new belfast one.

good luck with plugging the site. my advice is to get some simple stickers done up with the URL (simple sheets of packing labels from your local easons / whsmiths put through a deskjet are fine) and put them up in places where cyclists lock their bikes.

    Queens?

There wasn't much of a polo scene when I was there last.

  • yeah queens

  • As far as Im aware polo doesnt exist, also, please dont let polo or fixed gear bikes determine your uni!? :P

  • ohh no its not.
    it really isnt
ideally ill go there no matter what
i was meerly asking if there was any action over there

  • At least you'll be the best polo player there dude...

However as in London, you'll still be the worst.

  • anyone know a frame about belfast for building a fixie? 56-57cm or the like im 6ft.

does the fella down lawrence street have many vintage type racing bikes? getting a bit fried between gumtree and ebay!

stuck my old MTB up for swap on gumtree too.

  • I'll be in Belfast from the 3rd to the 15th of August if any of you guys are up for some longer rides, maybe Newcastle/Larne and back or something like that?

  • anyone been down to lifecycles in lawrence street? wondering if a frame might be had from down there?

  • I've been down the place in Lawrence st. Worth a look. You might have to have a bit of a dig but it's worth a shot. You definately get f&f there anyway

  • Is it the shop that used to be in Smithfield?
