What you want is third-party insurance, FONE. This is offered by the UK's major cycling organisations (LCC, CTC, etc.) as part of membership and I would highly recommend it (Disclaimer--as an LCC and CTC member, I'm obviously biased). By 'bike insurance', do you mean theft insurance? Whatever insurance you have, read the terms carefully and see whether this sort of thing is covered. Good luck.
