Wax to reproof cottonduck canvas. Carradice sell their own blend which is ace and smells nice, but you could use other brands.
Tyre sizes depends on frame clearance, rider+luggage weight, terrain. For ultra-light, self-supported touring on tarmac, you could get away with 25mm, 28/32mm would be more sensible. So 37mm should be ok; where you plan on going?
