  • He genuinely didn't realise and said that his wife had mentioned that he was getting too close to cyclists.

hmmm my girlfriend says I'm a dangerous driver too... Let's hope she doesn't find this thread! :)

people are people, I don't beleive anyone's ever evil, just misguided thoughtless and stupid...

  • no offense wannabe, just using you to illustrate a point, I do it all the time too... I would assume the majority on here have...

because they think they are in the right and don't have any idea quite how scary they are being or how dangerous the vehicle they drive is...

Most people who drive regulalry have no concept of the damage they could do with their vehicle and they see someone slowing them down and they think it's fair to scare them.

I had a slight crash with a taxi after he decided to buzz me, the first thing he said is 'i've been undertaken by three of you today' and then 'those things [bikes] are deathtraps'!

I pitty the first person that crosses me when I've set up cameras on my bike.
Haha none taken, I was plainly operating in cunty-mode.

The thing is, a ped stepping out into the road without looking SHOULDN'T be doing that, and if their parents didn't teach them, bastard cyclists should -- rather that than a bus...

NB -- tongue slightly in cheek-area, I'm not seriously advocating that we have a duty to shit up peds whenever possible. We are definitely saving them from themselves, though. A six-year old should be able to cross the road safely, do these people have Alzheimers? Do they just forget to stop, look and listen? If they stop, they usually look and listen, but not stopping...aaaannd breathe...

A cyclist riding along minding their own business is perfectly entitled to be there, and just because some car-dependent ignoramous takes offence at you being healthy, better off financially, and faster than him through London traffic, and decides to run you off the road...well, that's just plain wrong.

I drew breath to yell at a mobile phoner at the wheel this morning, who had stopped in the junction ahead of me (my red light), waiting to turn.

I remembered, JUST in time, that I now live in France and his car was plainly LHD, and he was plainly a front seat passenger. I turned the yell into a sort of cough. Fail.
