Another +1 for rubinos(pro and basic) being awesome. Had them previously with no problems, my girlfriend has them on her road bike with no problems as well. Not quite Hippy milage granted but they've done us proud.
Someone in a mates building threw out a pair of unused Rubino intrepid prb(whatever the fuck they are) recently, got one on the back and it's a fine tyre indeed, I don't skid that much but when I do they grip nicely and shrug off speed smoothly. No problems in the wet either.
In 5 years i've had one puncture and that was on a durano(basic, not plus). I find not smashing my bike into potholes/glass/curbs/inflating just past max psi does the trick ;)
