Brakes: GB calipers & levers.Handlebars: Alloy drop barsStem: Chromed steel.Seatpost: Chromed steelSaddles: Lycett 'swallow' leatherWheels: 27 x 171/4 inch chromed steel dunlop rims, & williams hubs.Cranks: Williams chromed steel cottered.Chainwheel: Williams chromed steel double.Other details: This is a great old bike, in original good condition , which I think is early 1960's, Made in England using Reynolds 531 tubing, 22.5 inch frame, with 22.5 inch top tube (center to center), ornate lugwork & nice gold head badge, has original decals with the little cross legged imp, the paintwork is original & no real rust to speak of, nice old Lycett racing swallow saddle, also has full black Bluemels popular mudguards, it is fully ridable,no cracks, dents or re-welds.

It has original Benelux shifters, front and rear mechs all working.

I don't know how old the bike is but I think its 50's or early 60's.

I am selling this stunning restored 1954 Carlton Flyer 531 tubing. it has an inch square where the paint has flaked of exposing the primer near the seat tube but is in great condition otherwise.

it is kitted out with 1950's components;

Benlux Gear Levers, Front rod operated mech & rear mech all in excellent condition
It has a Ventolux pump

GB Sports Mk II calipers
GB Levers
Original Carlton brake hoods
GB Stem
5 speed cassette

the wheels are 27" Weinman concave rims
Miche hubs and QR

the brookes saddle has probably never been ridden - it is spotless

Are those pictures current? There are a couple of bits that seem to be missing from it still. I think pedals being the first spot.

Are the tyres new or originals?

I wouldn't call putting Miche hubs and a cotterless BB the way towards a proper restoration, meself. This rims are rather sought after though ... And I'd say from the photos the paintwork has plenty of scrapes and chips, not just the one mentioned.

Still a nice find, especially with all that really nice Benelux and GB gear. Good luck steelisreal and whoever picks this up.

I have a friend with a nice williams double crankset (probably a bit later than this frame though) that he may like to part with, and I have a 50s Bayliss Wiley BB I'd like to sell, for cheap, if anyone wants to go cottered with this.

The crank set is actually a 46t Royce not Williams as stated
