No. Those bits I have. It's the expander that screws on to the long bolt that clamps the stem into the steerer that I need:

Oh i know what he means, all quill stems (well 50%) have them dont they!? im sure you could easily pick one up

Rocker - you could be right and I'll pop into LBS tomorrow to confirm. Thing is if you look at that sheldon page it's the expander type that I need and not the wedge. I also have a feeling that it needs to be the correct diameter and threading and my gut feeling is that this will cause problems. We'll see!

bump for any fresh ideas on this? I have a bolt but the threads are mashed making the stem unusable at the moment.
Hi all. Received e-bay purchase and chucked in with the frame was a Cinelli 1R stem. Unfortunately the seller didn't have the expander. Does anyone have a spare kicking around at all?
To clarify I have the little expander that is usually lost that sits in the handlebar clamp. It's the expander wedge that clamps to the steerer that I need.
