Agreed, good fun, but a shame it got so fractured. The streets seemed much busier than the last clockwise ride, and it was very difficult to hold the group together. It all fell apart after Kings Cross, possibly due to at least 3 incidents on the Euston Road (1 man down, and 2 plod) adding stress to lots of riders.
Thanks for leading and organising |³|MA3K. Sorry it turned out stressful.
Nice little track stand competition at the end...

Ahhhhhhh shit wish I'd stayed for the end, trackstand comp looked jokes etc. I ducked out with oldskoolracer when we were coming up to the tower hill stop point, headed southeast.
I'm crap for forum names to faces but who was on the Giant Omnium (Owen?), and critical mass dude on the Special**ed (Langster?) good to see you too! Anyone else hello to you too, incase you can tell we're seriously mashup just got in and time for crashing etc laydee says hi!

My first forum ride and had a good time. Too bad someone decided to go racing in the end all of a sudden.
Met some nice people i'll hopefully see again.I was the one that had to run up the "hill" in Notting Hill..

Hmmm. Agreed. If its billed as a social ride then it should stay that way, its not particularly fair speeding off on people and then not being bothered waiting for them when the route takes some turns down laneways and one-ways.
Knowing someone has gone down in traffic and is potentially injured but cycling on anyway regardless leaving them behind is also extremely not cool... I had no idea where I was last night but getting to a recognisable destination is not that important, you can always ask for directions. Ollie I hope you are OK this morning, I am glad that you seemed to come out of it with zero serious scrapes, it was lucky traffic was coming to a stop at the time.
Maybe I got up out of the wrong side of bed this morning, but just one more gripe :-) People should be careful before swerving in a group ride... twice I nearly got crashed into, first by someone who wanted to accelerate off towards the front, secondly by someone fishtailing around when doing a skid. I know we arent doing pacelines or anything like that but a simple shoulder check before moving sideways when you're riding in a large group will avoid clipping someone's front wheel with your rear.
I got some photos and videos off my phone, I'll stick them up later.

Not sure what happened at the end. half the field raced off with the speed of many antelopes, half didn't. a few of us chased but thought better of it.
Echoing what Kevin said, I'm amazed that some people made it back alive to be honest. There was some fucking seriously stupid riding going on.
But it was still a fun ride as always. Got home at 1am or something and my neighbour was having a party, so I finally went home at 5:30am. Now that's a weekend.

It was quite an enjoyable ride but plagued with people getting left behind, and then the 2 police incidents and crashes. Just glad everyone's OK. I left around Moorgate (just after we left like half the group behind) as I couldn't be arsed going back into central then back east.

Yeah, what sumo said, It was a good ride until we got past Paddington, and people were crashing, and the front didn't stop. Then when the group disintegrated after Kings Cross I decided to cut my losses and leave at Moorgate.

Well I had the best time ever! I made a point of sticking to the front for the entire ride so I didn't end up dropping off and getting lost like I did last time. Definitely worth it considering the amount of people that did get left behind.
I can't remember your name but whoever it was that gave me a beer outside tesco, cheers! It was nice to meet you.
Good job |³|MA3K. Thanks for organising and leading the ride. I had fun. Oh and incase no one knows who I am, I was the 'winner' of the trackstand competition at the end. What a nice way to finish an awesome night.

Big thumb up to John Mac for organising! It still remained fun despite doing that ride a couple of times before! Nice bunch of people too. See you soon on rides (I'm the french girl with the charge plug).

ride was good, unfortunate it ended as it did. hope people don't take it personally if they got left behind - there was load of shouting and calling for stops but unfortunately it didn't happen. glad everyone who had incidents on euston road are ok tho, hopefully next one will be a bit more organized and fun for everyone

Well I had the best time ever!
Especially the free for all down Euston Rd (police and crashes aside)

I got knocked over by a motorbike cop on Euston Road so I am sorry if the ride got a little broken.
I was bleeding, angry and in a lot of pain so I just keep going.Up to that point the ride had been great, oh well.
Small point> Euston road and the Embankment will always be taken at the riders own speed, they are long straight stretches that are impossible to get lost on.

• #144
Yeah that really sucked, its a good thing you weren't more seriously hurt.
-
• #145
i enjoyed every minute of the ride, even having been pulled over by robocops / motocops / dickheads.
dublinkevin it was me who swerved to the right and almost hit your front wheel. i said sorry when i've done it and saying it again: I am sorry! should've looked over my shoulder.
looking forward to a next one.
