Dylan, could the fact you are going through chains that quickly be because you are buying £2 chains?
Didn't even know chains could be had for £2.
I use £15 Wipperman chains and they easily last all through winter (they don't rust though due to materials). I use the bike through mud, water etc,. and Muc Off the whole bike once a week and clean and oil the chain.
