There is a full card of races for all - individual and team. The Ron Beckett Memorial double harness pursuit (don't ask - ok do get in touch) is a stand alone event £30 minimum win. Lots more cash prizes. Cycling goodies from the lovely Brixton Cycles and guaranteed sunshine.
And the Super Madison. A bit of midsummer madness.

Anyone know / confirm the Open Race this Saturday is on?
Am being asked by other Dulwich types.
Not so much promotion as last time!
-
• #60
Think the next Saturday open is beginning of August.

This suggests the "Catford CC madison" will be taking place on Saturday.

• #62
In which case, I am very much mistaken.

First saturday of every month. This saturday's will be on.
-
• #64
Programme for this Saturday yet to be confirmed, but it will be the usual stuff, probably with another short Madison for those who are up for it.

I have actually had enough of this drought. I want to be able to sleep under a duvet instead of a single sheet and not to have hayfever all the time. Not to mention being eaten alive yesterday by various bugs

I am abit worried about racing tomorrow. The last few Saturday races have been very hot but i think its going to be worse tomorrow.
No wind, High humity and High tempuraturesHow much water should you drink before , during and after racing in really hot weather??
How much salt/electrolite drink? -
• #68
Hydrate well before, that's the real key. 1 litre of water with Nuun tablets or similar in the 2 hours before, then at least 500-750ml for every hour of comp.
-
• #69
I may spend the day in my garden eating and sunbathing
I find it hard to motivate myself when it is this hot. I love this weather though. For me, it's never too hot :) -
• #70
You're lucky, I seem to be badly affected by extremes of temperature in this country because of the dampness we get with both very cold and very hot weather.
-
• #71
Thanks Rob. that helps alot. Will up my intake of water.
I love the heat but racing in it is 'challenging'
Mike I thought you would be in your element racing in this heat.
My bike must be cooking in the container at HH
Sometimes you open the container door and its like an oven!
That heat inside the container is probably not the best for tyre glue!

So, everyone up for the SE champs tomorrow? If anyone's not eligble but still fancies a day in the sun, we could always use a hand...

This looks very promising. Keirin!

I'm away & bit brassed off about it, that's a decent prog and I could do with a keirin.
hope the september open is as good
Possibly even that is giving me too much credit.
