You don't need paypal to donate, just a credit card
This isn't the notice board at your local tesco, it's a community where people with some normal sense adds to the community, or at the very least learn about bikes from it, not just come here to profit

I agree to a point, however I have received a great deal of abuse from members of this site and its the first time I have sold anything - all completely unnecessary and not doing anything to add to my sense of community on the site.
I think people donate to things as they see fit and should be left to decide for themselves the relevance of the cause - I am not saying I wont donate, I will once I handle some money.
Some people have been helpful - cheers to them.

Seems like your sense of community is to try to shift a £20 carlton for £200, what have we done without you all this long?
Seriously, you get your ad shown for 15000 users, that's quite a lot. You could donate a few quid and get lot less hassle, not that hard is it?

Hold up a second - that bike sold for £160 else where hassle free. £20????
The reason I tried to list adverts without prices was because I did not know some of the bikes values - so I then listed with prices only to be told the stuff I was selling was worthless - to then sell it elsewhere for pretty much my original estimate....
15000 users - thats pretty good does anybody know how many users log in each day?

**LFGSS in numbers** We passed another milestone today, the site is still growing (it's never stopped growing) but I don't have great records of the rate of growth because I pay so little attention to the numbers.
The numbers are fascinating though... here are a few.
Totals:
- 1.45 million posts
- 44 thousand threads
- 17.5 thousand registered members
- 11.5 thousand active members (logged in within the last 30 days)
- 1 million pages indexed by Google
- According to Alexa we're inside the top 50k websites that exist
- According to Alexa we're the 3rd largest cycling forum in the world, and 13th largest cycling website in the world*
Each month (avg):
- 4.5 million pages viewed
- 500 thousand visits from 250 thousand visitors
- £500 in costs (mostly hosting)
Each day (avg):
- 17,000 > 18,000 visits
- 900 concurrent people online most evenings
- 2,235 new posts
- 60 new threads
- 25 new members
- £11 in donations
- 60 thousand pages indexed by Google
- 15 thousand search results shown on Google
- 2.5 thousands click-throughs from Google search results
thjose numbers good enough for you [we shouldn't even have to be asking you to donate with that level of exposure for fucks sake]
The issue is you're not just selling a few bits and bobs - you and highlandpro are doing multiple sellings and putting jack shit back into the forum
Hilarystone does multiple sellings - it's his business. But he donates and has become the 'go-to' man for esoteric bits and bobs and more importantly advice on vintage gear
You and highlandpro have both come on here with bollocks about finding stuff in your attics [check hpros listings from several months back]
List away, but give something back and don't bullshit…

I can't speak for Highlandpro, but I have been clear and honest to everyone about the bikes, where they are from and my lack of knowledge concerning their value.
I don't know why anybody said they where in a loft or my G'dads etc - hayho. But I never said that and you are wrong when you say that I did, but I can't really see the problem either bikes are bikes. I am not a dealer.
highlandpro takes things too personally, but he was pestering me to donate and got annoyed because he was rudely told to donate for something I was selling through his account.
I have sold very little through this site - but will donate as I have said.

very well, once I get paypal sorted I'll donate - I assume you have to use paypal for donations, although i am glad Help the Aged don't apply the same pressure to donate as users of this site - I always thought donations where done of your own free will....
Anyway this bike is a stunner.
