Latest list split into coach and no coach, and numbering updated.
I need to hear from SoperRiva and mjs110 about whether they need a coach space, if I don't hear from them by Monday then they won't get a coach place as it will likely sell-out.
econodog and Nishiki_alien... it's extremely likely that even if 1 or 2 people don't come through that we cannot accomodate you. You should be thinking about alternate plans.
Anyone else who hasn't already registered interest in the coach is now unlikely to get on the coach.

Thanks Velocio, I'll have a look at the main coaches on offer in case

Simon J.
You have seat #10, but I have no idea who you are.
At the very least I need your forum username. You will lose your seat if I can't contact you with the prepayment details.

• #406
emab.
You have seat #12, but your LFGSS email address resulted in a bounce, please let me know where I should send the prepayment details.
-
• #407
So I think I sent that email twice to all involved... ooops.
It's also formatted like shit. Oh well.
What did I miss? The payments are non-refundable. Basically it's already running at a loss, if you decide to flake out post-paying then you lose the money.
-
• #408
surely someone who can't/won't ride can sell his/her seat to another person
-
• #409
i can confirm that the formatting is indeed a bit fucked on the email, but its still readable.
EDIT: paid.

• #410
I blame Microsoft Outlook.
The freaking thing wouldn't let me mail-merge to plain text. So it decided that everything would be HTML, and to hell with the formatting.
Can't wait until Google Docs get a "mail merge to email " thing.

So I just decided, perhaps somewhat late in the day, to do this.
Haven't done many long rides at all, just one down to brighton but felt all right after that so based on that, perhaps there's hope? Also just got back from 35 miles in Epping Forest feeling good. Though i realize it's quite a difference doing 35 daytime compared to 120 over night
My plan is, since there's 4 weekends left before the dynamo, to get as much riding in as possible before that without running myself down. I'm thinking two long rides, at least 60 miles, and a few 30 milers in between. I'll probably be doing it geared since that should make things a bit easier? Or should i man up and do it fixed?
Now, does this sound like a reasonable plan?
And Joe, sounds like we're sitting in a somewhat similar boat, i'm more than happy to ride with you since i'll be on my own as well.
Also, if anyone want to come along on the long rides in before let me know, I could do with some company
I'm up for a training ride this Sunday, thinking east London to Cambridge, about a sixty miler.
Any takers?

I'm doing the DD for the first time and am riding fixed.
I run 52/18 which i think is 74" ratio, I've previously ridden to Southend on this set up with no worries but am thinking perhaps I should gear down a bit for this one?....
Also what sort of lighting do we need for this?
-
• #413
tempting but i gotta ride saturday, driving folks to the airport sunday.
Doing my virgin ride with cleats and new but used road bike so actually thinking about doing loops around regents park. dull as, but good if don't get along with cleats or the bikes messes up

I would say around 70 is ok, but I havent ridden it fixed - so can't fully comment.
Lighting - bring something good - there are lots of unlit country roads. If we're lucky we'll have the moon but don't rely on it.
I have a Hope 1 that was great last year, but any one of the bigger cateyes should be ok, the lighting is more about seeing than being seen (as in London). Bring spare batteries. -

We (7&8 lalanternerouge+mate) are out. I can't (don't know) how to update the list so 2 lucky punters can claim these vacant seats. Have a great ride everyone!

Does anyone know about getting back by train, like at what time is it likely to get a place with a bike?
-
• #417
I'll get back midday monday, so don't care :p

why is it running at a loss? I'd happily pay more so "the forum" is not out of pocket. seems only fair.

paid.
thanks to VB and all others involved in the logistics.

Because this is a subsidised bonus thing. It's running at a loss in a good way.
I just want to plan the amount of subsidy, so that I know the amount rather than find on the day that X people didn't turn up and expect their money back, thus increasing the amount I'm paying.

surely we can squeeze multi grooves in?!?
someone's non-forum mate is gonna have to go...
-
• #423
Multi Grooves is almost certainly going to get on the coach. Enough people have dropped already.
econodog and his crew still wouldn't fit, but if a couple more people drop I'm far more likely to allow Nishiki to jump above econodog as Nishiki has been registered far longer and we could squeeze his whole party of 2 onboard.
After that... I'd let the empty seats become empty to give people comfort... unless there are enough empty seats to fit on econodog + crew and still have a couple spare for comfort.
