it was a hot summers day in 1991, i was 12 and my brother chad was 11. we got on our bikes and rode all the way from northampton to wickstead park where our grandparents used to take us. We were going to watch the skateboarders in the bowl. . We got there to find the concrete bowl had been filled in but we werent gonna let that ruin our trip so we climbed on the old train wreck and played in the park. after a while decided we better head back. About 5 minutes into the ride my brother had a puncure. Nothing to fix it with we ended up having to lock it up in a sainsburys car park and get our mom to pick it up later. So i had to give him a backie for fuck knows how many miles. We cut through a field on the way home and could see our town on the horizon. We were so thirsty. All we had was a single apple. I took a bite. It was the best apple i ever ate, i can still taste it now. We both shared that apple, and you know what...that day i loved my brother.
