Another lorry collision :( hope she gets better soon.

Keltbray again, although not their fault for being on the road, TfL should appreciate that having vehicles of that size regularly going up and down small roads breeds complacency (driver and cyclist/ped) and complacency ultimately ends up in accidents like this.

wow. that looks horrible. i hope she recovers well

I just dropped an email to the companies HR department (leigh.richards@keltbray.com) to express my dissatisfaction. If you've got a minute, do the same - it's all about raising awareness.
Lorries make up just 5% of London traffic but are involved in over half of cyclist fatalities

My friend just sent me the link to this. He was in the area but didn't see it.
The bike only looks to have a crushed front wheel, so let's hope the cyclist isn't badly hurt. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Bad news. Same scenario all over again.

Just saw this, too. Dreadful. :(

That is shocking, hope she's OK... :[

It looks bad - wishing a swift recovery! Passing an HGV on the inside is probably the single most dangerous thing you can do on London's streets.

I feel sick, this carnage has to end!

I don't think there's anything to suggest that this is what happened here today, though I totally agree with your sentiment and would suggest we'd all do well to remind any less experienced cyclists we might know of the same.
In the photos it looks to me like the cyclist was being overtaken on a corner, though obviously we don't know the full details. Indeed, the lorry looks like it would have hit the nearside curb anyway (poor driving)
Let's hope the cyclist is okay and Keltbray come up with a useful response; it was one of their lorries after all which was involved in the fatal collision with Harris Ahmed earlier this year. They're also the provider of trucks for the Mayor's 'Exchanging Places' scheme were cyclists get to sit in trucks and supposedly pride themselves on their safety measures....

Is it keltbray working on the shard?
-
• #16
Yes
-
• #17
And havnt people in se1 been complaining for years before work started about the problems associated with increased heavy traffic?
-
• #18
And did southwark or tfl or anybody do fuck all about those concerns?
-
• #19
Those Keltbray lorries are driven wrecklessly. Would be nice to see MACE from the Shard get involved to educate all of their traffic about this issue.
Horrific pictures. Hope she makes a full recovery.
Also saw this the other day which is equally horrific.

I'd like to see lorry drivers involved in major projects like the Shard go on a cycle awareness course. There's lots about cyclists getting in to the cabs of lorries, but nothing about the opposite for the drivers.
@lucky That picture of the coach is scary, do you know where that was?

not sure I got it via Twitter the other day. Thought you might have seen it.

any professional driver ought to do cycle training
this morning i had an idiot cunt in a bus ask me what i was doing in the centre of the lane
this was after she had veered into my lane (from my inside) pushing me into the oncoming traffic
in view of her utter fucking stupidity and lack of knowledge of the highway code i rearranged her mirror to make her aware there was one attached to the fucking bus
-

No, hadn't seen it. I think there are far more injuries and serious injuries going on than we realise. I'd wager a bet that a higher proportion of those involve large vehicles too...

It's a boiler plate response. Chance are they didn't speak to him.
The SE1 forum is reporting a collision between a female cyclist and a tipper truck at the junction of Dover St and Borough High St.
Some chilling photographs here and the report says she'd suffered compound fractures. I hope she makes a complete recovery.
