• I have this very pretty custom built 531 Griffin for sale.

It is 57cm ct x 53.5cm cc. Please note the short top tube.

The frame has been renovated and resprayed this lovely pale green colour. More details about the frame can be found here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread43685.html

I've built it up using decent spares I had kicking about. Only the brakes let it down although work adequately and do look the part.

All the components are in good condition although the front mech is not perfect. It all fits together nicely, has a beautiful classic look and works fine.

There's a new white saddle and matching white tape. The red cables are also new and compliment the red lug lining and writing perfectly.

Any questions please ask. It's such a shame for this to just be sitting in my garage unbuilt so I'm pricing this to sell so someone can put it some good use!

  • are they tubs?

  • no clichers MA2 rims...

  • Reminds me of Skully's JRJ. That is a good thing by the way!

  • Then I'd like to see Skully's JRJ. goes to find it

  • if it was black i'd take it.

  • sexy machine.

  • if it was black i'd take it.

It'd probably be better if you changed your user name to GreenGriffin ;)

Sludge tis indeed a sexy bike and at a bargain price in my opinion I am slightly mystified as to why I still have it...

  • I am equally mystified Tel. I'm struggling to resist, but I know it wouldn't fit.

  • Lovely, lovely, lovely bike! I am soooooo tempted myself but that short TT is a worry. Any chance of a pic of the slight dent mentioned in the original frame post Tel?...

  • Hey wired. As much as I would like to sell this bike don't you think you've brought enough!!! hahaha this would look nice in your collection though....

    Pic of the dent:

Can you see it? It is very small I struggled to find it.

  • Took a few outdoor pics too:

    :) I know,I know, but I have sold a few too!
I think this is a beautiful bike Tel and yes it would look great in my collection. I am thinking hard here as to how I could sneak it in without the wife seeing it..... :(

  • Beauty... must resist...dont. buy. a. third. bike. this. month...
TT too short for me anyway

  • Beautiful.
Why though, do you have the brakes that way round?

  • Truly beaut! Just wish I didn't have to pay rent this month. I'll ask the missus nicely if she'd let me skip a month!

  • that size fit me perfectly, with a 110mm stem, perfect.

bit annoying when I already have a lovely road bike.

Tell you what I'll send it in a plain brown box, she'll never know!

Thats why there are different length stems on the market.

    Beautiful.

Is there another way to have them? If I had the right lever going to the front the cable routing would be a little severe. Plus all my bikes are routed that way aren't yours?

I've shown you mine how about you show me yours.

PM returned. EU delivery is £60 and requires a lot of dis-assembly to get it in a small enough box.

This has been on here a while now and no takers once this thread drops back a few pages it will be locked and the bike advertised elsewhere...

I've always had the front brake to the right, but what do I know?

I ride 55-55, seat tube too short but top tube is spot on, that Griffin is perfect, it's just really annoying right now I can't have another bike.

  • Yeah thats an alright bike Ed. This is very out of character for me but I would be willing to swap your ok, over rated italian ride for this classic English beauty! ;) I appreciate you'll need time to think about that so I'll close this thread and give you some time....

    Now advertised elsewhere.
