did you encounter hills ? or was it a well planned route ?
-
• #104
Dicki, Hills there were, but I only renmember one hard uphill on Lambourn Downs which, because it was dark, and the moon too had set, kept all the agony of its length and steepness masked from us. Best downhill ever afterwards, mind.
If you've got 2.48 mins spare to look at this, you'l see two policemen standing where we collapsed one or two hours earlier. It doesn't convery the cold though- always coldest just before dawn.

Was a wicked ride, legs are battered today - definitely feeling the lack of cleats after some of those hills but was somewhat saved by my freewheel allowing me a breather on the way down.
Favourite bit: being wished 'good luck' by the waiter
Least favourite bit: wrapped in my inadequate layers, vainly trying to sleep in the sub zero predawn chill whilst hippies frolicked around me
Good work lads

Any of you go to Stonehenge instead? Saw these there and thought it might be someone here...
Here's mine, all trussed up in a cage after sweet talking the English Heritage girl.

which way did you go guys? Do you have a route online?

Here ya go.
More or less. I think the bit before Didcot is a little wrong, but the route's fairly straighfwd when yer on it.
We managed with just a map print-off n a GPS on a mobile. -

Not being big-headed or anything but I do loiks that shot a lot! It was completely jammy though. Pity the group shot in front of the stones is so washed out. Ah well!
