  • My fine and resplendent Ladies and Gentleman,
Being inspired by both of the magnificent Tweed Run events I have decided to cycle 900 miles during my Summer Hols for charity.
I leave from Folkestone in Kent and will peddle my way up the country to the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides!
The charities are the Harris Tweed Educational Trust and the other one is the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Both causes are very dear to my heart and I believe very worthwhile. The Educational Trust has been recently set up to ensure that young people from the Outer Hebrides and indeed further afield, are educated and informed about this most cherished and beautiful, but sometimes fragile parts of Scotland’s national heritage. The RNLI have been a charitable trust that has been saving lives at sea since 1824.
I shall be carrying everything on my trusty Holdsworth and camping every night just to make it more fun. I shall of course be putting up bunting when camped just to add a little sparkle! My moustache will be stiff and fruity and tweed shall be worn at all times!
Should any of you lovely people wish to donate my chosen charities that would a truly wonderful thing and I thank you from the very corners of my heart.
Should any of you lovely people see me bicycle past and I hear the cry 'HARRIS TWEED FLOATS MY BOAT!' I shall stop and enjoy a small glass of gin with you by the roadside...
I shan't take up anymore of time apart from to say, thank you for reading this and here are the links to the Just Giving and a Facebook fan page:
