I bought a frame a little while back that's not in tip-top condition, but will probably shape up nicely with a little TLC. My original plan was to stick all the bits together, give it a lick of paint and make a run-around for the summer.
But now I think I've just picked up another second-hand fixie, which means I'm not in such a rush to finish my bike-building project and I'm thinking of trying to restore it to somewhere near its original state, rather than just hurriedly powdercoating it and sticking some wheels on...
So does anyone know where I could find info on what my frame would've originally been like?
Is there anything I can look at on the frame or something like that, which might help me date it? I can just about see the outline of the original writing on it, so know what the decals looked like if that helps?
I also figured knowing a bit more about the bike might help me find out what size/shape stem, seatpost etc I need to fit because, frankly, I know absolutely bloody nothing about making bikes and this is all a bit of a leap into the unknown for me!
