read the rules for classifieds fella - it is strongly suggested in them that you state your price…
[if you don't know what they are worth then I suggest asking your mate highlandpro - if it's the same highlandpro on veloriders and is associated with www.wheelsmith.co.uk then he will know exactly what they're worth. As it happens he doesn't have the most glowing record for looking after his customers there either… I suspect that you are trying to mug off the forum with 'oooh these were in me attic, don't know how much etc'. To be honest, we're not mugs here and it smacks of either you or highlandpro taking the piss - if that's not the case, then apologies but if you are then you'll get called out on it and find it difficult to sell on here]

Put a fucking price on it and stop dicking around.

that bike is definitely worth.....
whatever a buyer wants to offer, so I'll offer £15

I didn't realise you had to state the price of items.
The bikes where my dads - he collected Carltons,Lagdales and Raleighs - he has sent them to me to sell he lives in France relocated from Nottingham - would you like his phone number?? I don't know why Highlandpro said they where in a loft etc... but also what difference does it really make.??
I do not know their values but they all have sentimental value to me which would influence my pricing therefore I thought I'd see what I was offered. I am not desperate to sell this bike.

think you'd be better off on eBay.
-
• #34
Why do I need to put a price on it - can't people offer - its true value is what people are prepared to pay for it surely....if you want to make me an offer please do.
-
• #36
Well thats a start I guess - see wasn't so hard was it?? But Ok I'd take £200.00 for this bike.

If you want to enter in the spirit of this forum put a fair price on the post....if you want to try to make as much cash from it then stick it on the bay. People on here are far from stupid!

why the second thread?
-
• #39
Because I put it in the wrong place - I forgot to pulldown the 'for sale' tab, so could not find it.

And close one of the duplicate threads. It's in the advanced options.

I'm calling bullshit on this one - sentimental value - you seem to have access to frames quite regularly according to your profile…

75 quid is realistic if you were down brick lane in one of the box vans..but you want postage or?
its made from truwell pipe or something similar..and made by raleigh when they were caning a thousand bikes an hour..the wrapover will look like its been done with a mig welder and filed down with an angle grinder..
maybe your confusing it with carlton pre 60 or whenever the takeover was..good carltons post raleigh buy out are nowt like this.a good bike to get to the shop and leave leaning on the door.

any rust? any dents/dings/major scrapes?
-
• #49
Something fishy is definitely going on 'round here...
-

No dents, no serious rust, the frame does have places where paint has been rubbed away or I guess scraped many years ago- these areas are rusted but are really now just a different colour because the bike has been looked after. Hope this helps
Steelisreal - It's a good idea to lay your cards on the table regarding price, and to be as open as possible with details and condition of the bikes. The community here is very good at ascertaining a fair price (for both buyer and seller) and definitely won't be ripped off, or try and rip you off.
If you honestly don't know what they are worth (I know I don't!), perhaps it's best to say exactly that. Either way, it's pointless to try and "draw out" bids from people. It seems you have some lovely bikes coming up for sale, so good luck with it all.
