Are you saying ride via Oxford? That is hell of a diversion!
-
• #79
As everyone knows, the most direct route is via Bletchley.
-
• #80
so there is the oxford ride, the bletchley ride and rolling to the stones all that weekend
hell there must be a way to get involved in all three ?
-
• #81
Well it would be easy to join all three into a loop but I don't have the time for that.

was only me and you on the fixed last year anyways!
any more takers for 90 miles of pedalling non-stop? -
• #86
There's a small, fixed crew rolling that way, but to Avebury, and not starting from London.
May, or may not see you down there.
Possibility that we'll be on that Swindon train back, so may see you there.
Maybe. -

If it weren't my brother's stag do this weekend I would be very down for this. 90 miles a day is an ask but not too challenging if you're up early and motivated. I'm down for next year defo. The only night ride I did was unintentional. I dealt with it by playing Slayer, not touching the brakes and leaving it all up to the powers that be... it was awesome, scary, and I almost hit a deer!

We did it. Five of us got to Avebury to see the dawn, followed by Sunrise over Swindon! Undulating ride in sun followed by the best nightriding I've had: smooth roads almost completely car-free. Fantastic downhills. and a restaurant meal juxtaposed in-between . Sleep deprived now. with Avebury bongos still in my ears. Pity Skive who's working 12 hours today.

Well done, guys!
Still gutted I couldn't come along, but really pleased you had such a good ride!
-
• #99
well in lads / lasses how many of you did it in the end ?
gutted to have missed it but my old knees just wouldn't have taken it after 130+ on saturday, my knees had trouble descending stairs on sunday fine today but ..... ( excuse after excuse )
next year i'll space my rides more carefully
maybe even open up a social diary -

That was a stunning ride.
Beautiful weather, great pace, some of the best countryside, road surfaces, and later on, lack of vehicles, you dream about.
Avebury was a superb place to end at.
Beats the henge hands down.
Thanks to Wools and Dropout, and Skive and K for making it so memorable. Some great riding and navigation from you all.
Those that couldn't make it... you were missed, but this is the route to do for all future years. 105 miles in total, and everyone of them a pleasure.
And all of it capped with a very worthy sunrise.
Swindon never looked so attractive : )
Alright Wordsworth ; )
You could just ride from Oxford. Sexy route all the way.
