  • I'll be waiting at the Bebside roundabout at about 6.30. Route 1 passes nearby. Gis a text when you're near and I'll find you. Have sleeping bag, bivvy-bag and tarp. Not bringing tent, it's too big/heavy.

  • well that was mint, great night. train back was free too! will upload pics tonight.

    now for some sleep

  • pics from the ride. should be able to see them even if you're not on crappy facebook

    Edit: Oops, too slow!!

  • Me and Ricky are riding out to Tynemouth, stopping off for a pint, then riding back if anyone fancies it? We'll be leaving at 7

  • Anyone up for another track meet?

  • I am! Missed the first but it looked like fun. Sometime soon before the weather gets even worse

  • going to the quayside market tomoro if anyone fancies it? 11 at monument

  • Anyone up for another track meet?

me, ed, oli and ian went down today.

ed did a 38.52 single lap and i did a 36.30 and a 36.58. the main problem though was ed wiping the floor with everyone riding there and back. . .

  • Me and Ricky are riding out to Tynemouth, stopping off for a pint, then riding back if anyone fancies it? We'll be leaving about 7

  • i'm heading out for a fairly quick 50 miler tomorrow morning if anyone fancies it? i'm going geared but anyone can join in.

  • Yes Gav. Fancy earlyish start to get recovered for polo?

  • nice one matt. i was thinking start at 8. back for just after 11. maybe go down quayside for a celebratory burrito?

  • Word, see you Monument at 8. Any route plans?

  • Yeah, i've got a wee route in mind. Not too strenuous. Heading west out towards Wylam and looping back round before we hit Corbridge. I've done it a couple of times and its a really sweet ride. Lots of quiet B roads and nice riding. See you at Monners at 8.

  • sounds good I'll try to get up for it
got to be in killi For 10.30 tho so may head back early

  • May be busting out the rather dangerous lycra that's been languishing in my old cupboard since about '98. Luckily seem to have lost the Marco Pantani bandana that I used to wear with it

  • Is anyone on the GNBR this Sunday?

  • There's a few of us thinking about it Matt, but no-one's registered. Had a look and it seems that registration is closed unless you're prepared to stump up £50 on the day. Could be wrong about that though.

The latest idea, seen as we're lacking transport, is it ride to the start. It's about 50 miles from town + 55 for the ride and 10 back home from Tynemouth.

  • Forecast is dire + lack of registration - I'm out.

  • fair enough. it may have been a bit ambitious anyway. might go out for a ride on sunday morning, then for a celebration burrito after. let me know if anyone fancies it.

  • Anyone been out riding in the snow? I went for an urban ride last night on the polo bike. Turns out 23's with no tread are not ideal for slushy conditions. Stacked it twice at very slow speeds. A lot of fun though.
