Broken Skewer thing?

Hey.

Friend of mine's broken his skewer thingy on the rear wheel. I've never seen one of these before myself, having only really used more modern quick release things,
it's the big thick bar on the right hand side, and his has split in two...
?

The quick release system is just the same as used on more modern bikes (unless your talking about thru-axles on MTB's).

The "big thick bar" is the axle, you need an axle in the wheel for sure.
