  • If the Brick lane market is so well know as an outlet for stolen bikes etc why dont the police do something? I realise they are to busy being PC and to scared that they may step on a few toes but surely if there is no paper trail to the bike on sale they get confiscated.

Seems that the police are there as window dressing where every you go.

the thing is...We now have a 30 strong police task for assigned to tackling bike theft in the city...last week was there first week, they hung around the bagel shop and kisses a few babys heads...(interpret that how you will if it's rudeand mean though doesn't insinuate child abuse then all well and good)....

Though this weekend...apparently...there were no cops.

Someone posted a link a few pages back about the police breaking a 'Major' cycle theft ring...they tracked down ringer bikes they left out in conspicuous places that were sold on gumtree...
Once the 'perps' had been niked they reckoned bike theft in that area stopped dead...really they were that adamant...
and then...said criminals, despite being responsible for all bike theft in that area of the city, ...we given 6 month suspended sentences...which means fuck all ...

I don't think they even tagged them, to know what they were doing again...stealing more bikes perhaps...

I can stop sounding like the daily mail now..though in all fairness, what do we do?

this is getting really serious, bikes are such hot crim money at the minute...and such easy low risk money at that...
