The christophe leather ones have been good to me.
The nylon ones tend to work themselves loose easily as there isnt much for the buckle to grip to. Leather ones are thicker so the buckle digs in and stays put. They are also more comfortable.
Some people have the opinion that leather ones stretch, I havent really noticed too much of this. A little but of stretch is infinitely better than them coming loose every few minutes.

I thought it might be the case that nylon ones slip because of how thin they are, and also because of nylon's lack of friction. I've got leather ones and certainly haven't noticed any stretch. That's probably because they're 2nd hand and reached their elastic limit long before I owned them. Never slip either. Just thought there might be some sort of advantage to them since they seem so popular.

Nylon ones are cheaper and I think leather ones have the potential to tear once they are really old & dried up.

I had some dirt cheap straps and clips that lasted me about a year with no problems. Didn't become loose at all.. They were the cheapest ones the shop had in!
I got some metal clips and leather straps recently because they looked cooler, but they work and feel just the same in my experience.. -
