Just watched it again: from the aerial view you see Cav veering right quite a distance, and yes, looks like he's trying to 'encourage' Hausler to give him space by crowding him... but-look at 52 sec to 54 sec on that vid-Hausler's wheel is at 35 degrees and he seems to pre-empt contact from Cav by moving his right shoulder down and pushing against him. Cav goes off balance, wheel slips out and proceeds to make cyclist crumble.
I think Cav's a bit of a prat and definitely caused the accident by not holding his line but deliberately riding straight into Hausler's too stupid...
Speaking of prats Millar was on the (Scottish) news tonight being all saintly and saving the kids from being 'groomed' (his actual word for it) by dirty Frenchmen.
