• lemond is a loser with some serious mental health issues. when i read this guys interviews or see him speak i cringe. loved his riding but what a twat. can you imagine having to share a beer with this guy whining on?

didn't lemond finally put his hand up and acept responsibility for the all family issues he had?
I don't think armstrong would be a great bloke to have a beer with to be honest, bit too much of a chino wearer for me but a man rather than*** a lost boy.***
And while we're at it...how comes merckx, hinault, lemond haven't been fingered for drugs.? come on per..leaz

come on scarlett...if armstrong is a media whore (could well be but being in the media a lot doesn't necessarily make you a whore) then at least he's a high class hooker. lemond is defo a media whore but he's a cheap 20 squid a shot junkie bitch down whitechapel way. the bloke is an annoying basket case who needs to get his shit in order before trying to sell his 2 bob 'please listen to me, todays riders can't compare to me it's not fair no one wants to listen to me, yet i was better, racing was more exciting in my day, riders had to....blah, fucking blah' story to any local radio station. great rider though

Tim, I find the undercurrent of blaming LeMond for his own abuse fairly troubling here. In terms of his competitive history, LeMond of course is anything but a 'loser'. What has come out, of course, is that he was sexually abused when he was a child, which is one of the worst things that can happen to anyone...

    1. capitalism has done more for poor people than socialism.
    2. capitalism doesn't claim to make a fair and just society. that's up to people
    3. start showing some evidence that i 'mocked' lemond for being sexually abused. i'm pretty sure velocio and many others would have picked up on that. So make it good or apologise.

    1) Again you show a total misunderstanding of the notion of 'Socialism' vs 'Capitalism' there are varying degrees of both. If you are thinking of Stalin, Cuba, they are not Socialist Democracies, but totalitarian regimes under the premise of socialism.

    2) Again, the core values of any society are underwritten by the system by which it functions. Thatcherite greed does not make for a nice world to live in.

    3) I have included a cross section of your compassionate appraisal of Lemond and his underlying problems (which exist totally outside the argument of whether LA is a fraud) in which you display your subtle compassion for your fellow man and illustrate your deep knowledge and understanding of the issues involved here. Oliver Schick did indeed 'pick you up' on them. So I will not apologise to you for portraying you in the manner by which you yourself have decided to appear. So far you have derided anyone and anything that interferes with your perception of Lance and can only offer sweeping generalisations in return that fail to address any points raised. Perhaps you need to stop reading the Daily Express and turn your attention to something that has some kind of grounding in fact. Either way, a whole legion of folk on here haven't been able to sway you and I'm certainly happy enough to leave you on the island of incurable hero worship and set sail on the vessel of veracity.

Now, puss puss want a biscuit?
