2010-06-19 Sat 9.30am Start - Oxford Graduation Ride (Because Long Rides are Fun)

there will be a souths contingent, i'm fairly sure, that will probably, again i'm fairly sure not 100% certain, meet at the coach and horses (souths beer venue).
i think that will leave at 8.30ish and go straight to richmond green via a3 then a205.
you could probably join the group as it goes through wandsworth.

Can't ride fixed this time, my knees are completely fucked after Cambridge and I also did Brighton last weekend for no apparent reason. Hopefully they'll hold up if i ride my racer. God I hate this getting old business.

For anyone East not wanting to head as far south as Brick Lane I'm planning on meeting people on the corner of Balls Pond Road and Essex Road at 8am. It'll take just over an hour to get to Richmond Green from there...

The ride starts at 9.30, surely it won't take 2 hours to get over to Richmond? (not that I'll be going your direction)

I'll be riding from East. so will try and meet at Brick Lane - 7.30 may be a bit early though, Richmond is less than an hours ride away surely?

Well, meeting at Richmond 9am, and when I say 7:30, that allows for people turning up late, and punctures on the way, so 90 mins sounds about right.

I'm very sorry to say I will not be with you. I was hit by a car on Tuesday evening - no really serious damage, but I think I've got a cracked rib which is painful enough to stop me riding.

The driver,who was facing towards me, suddenly decided to turn right directly across my path leaving me nowhere to go except over his bonnet. And that was where he first noticed my existence.

I suspect the crash has ended my 2010 racing season, so this might leave space for me to come on more long forum rides in the future.

Blimey! Sorry to hear this. I hope you're fealing better soon. I know it can be rather painfull - especially when you stretch out or laugh. Did you go to the hospital to get checked out? It's probably a good idea even if you think it's just ribs. Also, how's the bike?
