Sounds like a good idea apart from people tend to post threads with multiple items which could cover all of the above. Also, noobs struggle enough with the concept of thread prefixes that i doubt many of them would get it right at all.
What might be an idea is to have radial boxes in the thread create bit where you tick all that apply and then it puts it in all the relevant sections. Only problem with that is that i suspect some people would do what they do on eBay and put it in the section even though it has nothing to do with it just to get extra exposure.
