  • I have to fit a pair of these and they're extremely brittle, I remember being told that you need to soak them before shoving in, but can't remember in what, oil? water?

  • don't bother with them - they are poop.

i gave up after the (second) replacement gave in.
the wood just stops sticking to the glue.

btw - you may have to wrap some sparky tape around the cork, to make it snug.

  • My advice would be to get some hope grip doctors - they are the bomb. Or, if you're going for the old-skool, retro, Harvester restaurant look, check out those made by Gilles Berthoud maybe?

  • toshi cloth bar tape come with rubber screw in plugs like the velox ones, but .. in .... white .......!

  • Champagne cork. As used by myself.

  • Just lost one of my brooks handlebar caps damn crappy glue. Do you know where I can get my hands on some of those 'Harveter Restaurant 'look' handle bar plugs?

    Ta

  • so sorry

cant be fucked to google it for you

  • Lol.

    They're shit.

Brooks sell 'em as spare parts.

  • 'Harveter Restaurant look'

Just now I thought you were bonkers for saying this, then I realised you were quoting me :-s

  • They really are pants - the taper runs the wrong way so after a while they just fall out again.

Champagne cork in mine - the taper runs the right way (as in, it gets wider the further in it is, so it doesn't fall out again). Other side has a brake lever.

  • velox plugs. duh.
