    BIANCHI FAVONIUS ROAD FRAME c1993
    Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
    Wheel size: 700C
    Frame tubing: Oria
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This early 1990s Bianchi is built from one of the more budget Oria tubing sets. Its in very sound condition and the paintwork though it has quite a number of marks is very useable. The headset dustcover has a small section missing. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £83

EDDY MERCKX PROFESSIONAL ROAD FRAME c1983
    Seat Tube (ctc): 57cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm
    Rear dropout width: 125mm
    Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
Eddy Merckx steel frames are some of the nicest riders made - this one from the early 80s is in very sound condition but really needs repainting. However it is one of the the examples built from Reynolds 531 double-butted tubing. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £165

    RICKERT SPEZIAL ROAD FRAME c1988
    Seat Tube (ctc): 55.5cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
    Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Probably Reynolds 531 double butted
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 47mm
Rickert was one of the top German framebuilders and with this frame you can see why - it simply exudes quality. The paintwork is in very nice condition - it has some marks but nothing which stands out too much... Bottom bracket threads are standard English. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £165 SOLD

    BATES VEGRANDIS c1937
    Seat Tube (ctt): 20in
    Top Tube (ctc): 23.5in
    Rear dropout width: 110mm
Brake drop with 700C wheels: 50mm
    Tubing: Reynolds 531 Cantiflex tubing
    Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This Bates Vegrandis frames dates from c1937. It has been repainted and there are signs of light pitting under the paint in a number of places but nothing which worry me from the structural point of view. It would have been built for 26 x 1 1/4in wheels originally but there’s plenty of space for 700/sprints. £95

KOGA MIYATA AERO ROAD FRAME 1981
    Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
    Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Tange Champion No 1
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This is one of top end Koga-Miyata Japanese built frames which are truly stunning quality. Just take a look at the lug finishing and the drilled bottom bracket shell. These are really very fine frames. The paint is in very good/excellent condition with only a few marks. The long horizontal dropouts make it am ideal conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £125 SOLD

COUGAR TT LO-PRO FRAME built for Chris Boardman c1991
    Seat Tube (ctt): 40cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 53cm
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C rear, 24in front
    Frame tubing: Unknown
This stunning frame finished in a black with a speckle was built by Cougar Cycles for Chris Boardman to attack several short distance time trial records c1991 before he turned professional. The fairings are not structural - they are probably fibre-glass! In one or two places there are cracks between the tubes and the fairings but nothing at all significant. This frame could be ridden with a suitable length seatpost riders of between about 5ft 6in and 6ft tall - the top top tube length is the important dimension... The vertical dropouts mean that it is not especially suitable for singlespeed or fixed use unless you manage a magic chain length. £195

    CBT ITALIA ROAD FRAME c1994
    Seat Tube (ctc): 49cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 51cm
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
    Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This is a rather unusual CBT Italia frame which uses a very distinctive fluted tubing. It is in excellent condition with almost unmarked paintwork and the long horizontal dropouts mean that it will make an easy conversion to singlespeed or fixed. £185

    RALEIGH MIXTE c1970s
    Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
    Wheel size: 27in/700C
    Seatpost size: 25.4mm
This Raleigh mixte is very pretty and dates from the late 70s – the paint is not perfect - it has quite a number of marks etc but does look very presentable. £33

    Top Tube (ctc): 60cm

    Bottom Bracket Threads: Italian
This Guerciotti frame is NOS. It has all the classic Guerciotti features such as the star shape cutout in the lower head lug and bottom bracket and the engraved top eyes. The paint is is in very nice condition but there are some chips noticeably on the ends of the head tube - these could be carefully touched up. No fork. reduced to £115

CINELLI UNICA ROAD FRAME 46.5cm like 51cm 1996
Offered for sale is an excellent 1996 46.5cm (ctc) Cinelli Unica road frame with a 52cm ctc top tube. Rear dropout width is 130mm. Bottom bracket threads are Italian. It is built from Columbus Brain tubing. It takes a 27.2mm seatpost. This is a very beautiful compact road frame with a sloping top tube - it is roughly equivalent to a 50-51cm standard road frame. It has one very small dent to the top of the top tube just in front of the seat lug which can just be seen in the photos. The paint is in very nice condition with very few marks. There is a sticky coating to some of the paint - I have cleaned most of it off but some residue still remains. £125 reduced to £115 SOLD

  • Nice Koga. Its a 1982 GentsRacer-Aero.

  • PM'd about the Koga

  • sorry if this is a boring question, but can anyone enlighten me about the bosses on the seat stays of the Bates? There's a courier guy some of you may know called Bart (or was it Homer?) who rides a gold 'road/path' Bates with chrome ends, I've stopped for a chat and had a butchers' at the bosses on his - I assume they're mudguard eyes, but his only has one set, and the pair just above the curves on the fork too. Is the second pair on this^ one for a rack?

  • The bosses are Bates reg'd design mudguard bosses which are used with a thumbscrew for easy fitment/removal - bikes in the 30s were generally multipurpose and would be ridden to events - I have seen a cyclist's diary from the 30s where he described how he'd ride up to a 100 miles on the Saturday to an event, ride the event on Sunday and ride home afterwards getting home in the early hours... mudguards were essential kit. The second higher boss on right-hand seatstay is for a reflector; there is not one on the LH stay.

  • Aha, couldn't work out why there were two, so thanks Hilary.

  • How much for shipping to Canada/Montreal for below frame.
I will probably buy some other stuff from you if the shipping is reasonable.
