His original plan was to make a geared racing bike - decided to go fixed later - track ends would have severely limited the options - He was going to grind off the hanger and eyes but I advised leaving them on - I just love the cynical, suspicious take you sometimes get on this forum! Heh heh, does no harm to keep the bullshit radar working.
The local frame builder I mentioned btw is Tom Warmerdam at Demon Frameworks - if you're around Southampton check him out - his work is right up there with the best UK builders.
