• Cant find an axle for my C-record BB so want a modern and cheap one to tie me over for the time being. Would this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=26067
fit my early 90s double campag chorus chainset? Im guessing I need the 111mm version..
I'm just worried as I know campy can be odd with compatability..
    Thanks!

  • I'm running the same setup with these cranks

Are you worried about taper compatibility or length compatibility. The tapers will be fine, and length will obviously be more of a personal preference/depend on other components too. Although I believe 111m was the most common length supplied with that group.

If you're keen to keep it period correct I have a 111 chorus BB from that group that is in great nick. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

If you're happy to keep a modern BB I'd recommend the tifosi ones. Seem to be better quality and lighter than the cheaper campag BBs and come in lots of lengths. I'm running chorus carbon on one bike and a tifosi on another, and there doesn't seem to be a difference in quality.

  • thanks for the info mate. Yeah I was worried about taper, I'm fairly sure 111mm is correct length I need though. You have a PM.
