tdon, the biggest weight difference is the wheels, so change the wheelset for says, an Mavic Open Pro laced to Condor hubs (their wheelset cost £150ish from Condor), and a decent 25c tyres instead of the standard heavy 28c tyres that came with your Plug (28c is the 'thickness' of the tyres).
you will see a noticeable difference easily, especially when the Open Pro rims is quite skinny and light (but does not mean weak, the strength lie in the quality of the wheelbuild, not thickness of the rims).
The Charge Racer/Freestyler have the same 'deep V' shaped rims, whether the original Plug and the Plug Grinder have standard 'skinny' rims.
