Ashe, I think you're missing something. The cameras on phones are all much alike and performance of any camera relates to the amount of light it receives and can process. Note that the two photos you show both are in well-lit conditions with more than ample light in perfect conditions (sunny day, outside with sun behind the camera). I think you'd find that most mobiles would produce photos of that quality given those conditions, it's how they perform in more standard conditions (evening light or low light indoors with overhead artificial lighting) that is the real test.
