My current aim, which is what I think you should do with this bike, is to run a nice old steel bike as a fixed gear for the city, but have the gears and geared rear wheel to put on for weekend use or longer countryside rides. I've tried this a little with other bikes and I'll happily spend an hour every couple of weeks swapping the wheel and sticking the gears back on to be able to have a bike that does everything I want without needing a spare bike!
