Well I'm no expert but I think Cigars as an investment in an expensive game. Maybe if you aged some already aged Cigars (most cigars you'll buy will have been rolled at least 2 years before you buy them, and you can easily get 4 and 5 year old cigars from any vendor in London), then you would be in with a shot at making a decent return. I would have thought it fairly unlikely though. Aged Cigars will have been aged for ages (if that makes sense), and are damned expensive.
If you are serious about doing it then my advice would be to go for limited regional releases. Every year the countries where cigars are largely popular (England, Spain etc.) have their own unique regional releases. England's came out not long ago for 2010 - I think there are about 5 or 6 of them. If you were to age them for 10 years and sell them on, you could make a fair bit...
I don't know what your financial situation is, but I think there are much better investment options for a cigar novice. Smoke some cigars, come and meet us at our next session (we have been incredibly slack at sorting one out though) and decide whether the hobby/passion is something you want to continue with and explore...
