  • Lisbon.. Top place really beautiful and some excellent food.

  • POW!

  • I prefer my food in focus.

    ;)

  • Fuck focus... its in my belly.

  • 2 x natas from Berwick bread stall.. Really very good indeed..

  • Pastel de nata has to be from Cafe Lisboa, otherwise you can keep them, tried a few inferior ones in London. Nuknow knows.

First ones I had were from here - http://www.pasteisdebelem.pt/ on a nice sunny day in Lisbon. Magic.

So much Rep to spread, so little time.... ; )

Café Lisboa is unquestionable the best place in London for any Portuguese cakes.

I know Balks, I feel the same... and my belly is empty.

Obligatory stop if you ever go to Lisbon, but beware, they have they're own recipe of Pastel de nata. Considered for many as the best one ever, but very different of any other one. It's a whole new experience...(and a secret)

  • We made 12 scotch eggs, only ate 1 last night. If anyone wants to head to Peckham Rye this evening to sample 1 of the other 8 (I want one, and I'll reserve 2 for Dammit) they're more than welcome! They are rather tasty...

  • they certainly look it :)

Genuinely... how much involvement did knackers have in the process, apart from the happy snaps?

  • Ffffffffuuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkkk

  • overload overload overload

  • shite... sorry.

    but its stayin

    :)

  • I'm getting meat sweats just looking at it...

  • HA! My colleague just said "9 times out of 10 I look up at your screen and there's always some sort of food there"

  • That's some form of Pa'amb oli amb tomquet.

My parents know the owners who run Cafe Lisboa in Ladbroke grove.

  • @ Balki: 'Knackers' is a very good cook. I can't even boil eggs (hence runny yolk though I think the second batch of eggs might be slightly more cooked; they were certainly less soul destroying to peel). He dealt with the sharp things and the meat! I.e. made the bread crumbs, finely chopped the herbs for the sausage meat, mixed the sausage meat, and then, when I'd finished ruining the eggs, covered them in the sausage meat.

I did stuff that children can do like pick the sage leaves.

  • make Brave happy.. put picture back Balki

  • ... hence runny yolk ....

The runny yolk was what it's all about

  • Maybe, but it was still luck rather than judgement. Literally. I turned the heat down once the water was boiling and assumed the eggs were simmering. I noticed after 5 (of recommended 6) mins that they weren't.

  • It's WIN

  • i fucking hate hot dogs.
    pile of shit.
Its steak night chez moi tonight.
    fuck yeah.

although I just watched Heston's 'pefect Chili on youtube, and thats a tempting thing...
maybe when i have loads of time...
