Hey Scott, whats the situation with the bigger bags? I've just re read a load of this thread but can't find much info on the bigger bags. I put myself on the list and PM'd you on the 24th May 2009,but I've been using an ortleib messenger pro for about 6 months and although super comfy it really annoys me that it has no compression straps or pockets and is so bloody wide at the top! So i'd like to go with the backpack rather than messenger style, something about the same size, 'the transformer' ? or is it still a prototype? Either way, I can pay up front now. Any chance of getting something soonish? Shall i cut and paste the bags list again?
Cheers! -

The transformer wasn't a messenger bag,it was a custom one off backpack.
For Messenger bags do you mean the Archie (Smaller but still big) or the Theo (Big)?
NB. There's also a larger bag in the range now (Daddy Mack) of which there is one up for sale as we speak.

That's what I get for skim reading. Sorry Sammy.

no worries, yea I think its the Addie. cheers
edit - yea i found a pics, defo an Addie. In your revision of the bags, would it be possible to have compression straps with buckles, so you could use them to attach larger items to the outside, or some kind of similar system? With a messenger bag i love how you can just use the flap to strap big things down (frames, big pieces of wood etc), but find a backpack way more comfortable. That is a major disadvantage of the ortleib!

^ i also like to see bags on people's back for the fact that it helps gauge the size. plus the giggles over what some stuff in or transport with them and how.
that says a lot about a proper bag, seeing it in use. like that picture of jimbilly carrying that massive present.

This thread has reminded me of how much I love my grobag. Weekly shopping, huge quantities of alcoholic drinks, assorted bicycle parts, frames and wheels, ski boots and full ski gear, it can handle anything. Thanks Scott!

I was out in the sun last week and swimshorts don't work with a belt, a little adaptation did the job though

If it helps I have a RED/ORANGE/GOLDEN YELLOW one that I'd happily swap for this black and yellow one.
To keep it fair on Scott, if you're keen buy the black and yellow one off him and we'll do a swap. Mine's as new. Nice and shiny, just doesn't match my bike. Yes, that is a bit sad.
