Having a rear coaster brake only is still not legal as two brakes are required. So still interesting that they choose to shoot the photo without front brake. Unless it is for US I guess.
(We all know it is photographed without brake because it looks better!)

As an Alternative I'm now thinking a Wine Box on the front would be kind cool if it was mounted right.
This ones a bit sloppy but is good cut down.

Jesus... that just reminded me.
Yesterday I encountered a guy on a brompton with a massive drum strapped to the back, easily as big as that keg. It had toxic waste stickers all over it and I could hear it sloshing around. I looked at him dumfounded as he said... "mornin". Bloody "mornin"? Is that all you've got to say for yourself, you total nutter???

edscoble's your man for this - he loves this kind of thing. Besides that one on chainreaction looks like a unipack/create with a rack.
Old can be gold - gorgeous but weighty.

Just buy a second hand Marin hybrid with a rack I reckon

Just went to Paris for the weekend and jesus there were loads of front racks around on bikes over there. Took a bunch of photos of different ones that I'll post later.
After eventually finding a Bike shop on Canal Saint Martin i got a small low mounting 'porteur' ish rack for 27 Euro. Hopefully it will fit on the bike. Haven't tried it yet.
So if you are really after a Front Rack i'd recommend trying Paris.

Saw a lovely dark green and chrome geared thing this morning at the Bow Street/strand cyclepath - pedestrian vortex. It looked bloody lovely - immaculately clean, rack painted as F&F. I said 'nice bike' but never really got a look at the rider, too busy checking out the bike...
Anyone here? Hi.

interesting! anyone knows good french webshops that could sell racks? Might be a better / cheaper alternative than forking out £100+ for velo oranges

100 quid for a front rack? I'm in paris, I'll keep an eye out for a good price. I paid 40€, fitted.
Good price for web shipping, that is...

The department Store BHV just off rue de Rivoli has an attahced BHV Velo or BHV Bicycle Shop that had one of the Porteur Style Front Racks. for £29.
They have an online store but I dont' really know what to serach for
http://www.bhv.fr/location in Paris.
Easilest would be to ask a freind or someone in Paris to post one.

well they had one in BHV or there is a bike shop that overlooks Canal Saint Martin that has 3 different ones. all for around 30Euro. (one of which is the same as that in BHV but it was quite heavy - built with thick solid metal rod rather than tubing.

Hey all,
We've been thinking about bringing some of these rack/handlebar things over.I want to pre-sell at least a few before I make a commitment to bringing them over, because as nice as they are (and they are NICE) they are £150 each. Anyone want one? List?

They have been roundly slated on here - look cool, utility fail.
Take a globe for a spin, super comfy riding position with those bars. I have built a pub/porteur bike, from an old Pashley tube rider - put Nitto Promenades on, a wine box rack, 7 speed Sram coaster hub, and the comfiest saddle i could find. I can ride this all day in comfort, due to the saddle/bar set up.
