Weirdly he was very apologetic, gave me a lift to work (with bike) and ended up paying me £90 for a new front rim+wheel build later that day.

After my crash last year I was scooped out by guys (Corny, Festus, Reen & J.Smith) and chucked with my mangled bike on the back of black cab.
Driver was an ace bloke who was insisting on taking me to the hospital, which I refused, because didn't want to leave my bike locked outside. He was a cyclist who took part in many audax rides and charity runs.
Unfortunately too many cabbies can't see the road from the perspective of a cyclist and that's why they never fecking use their nearside mirror.
