    Finally got the last part of the group; the seatpost. It's taken years to get this lot together.
    Now I just need to build up the wheels and get a respray. [pic of mavic road groupset here]

    Oh my days ... don't let dmczone see that ... I'm interested to see what this is all going onto!

    Claud Butler 1951 New Allrounder. Almost ready to assemble. I'm waiting for the seatpost and sprocket. My first intention was to repaint the frame. Some guys from bikeforums.net persuaded me to safe and conserve the original painting. At first I stopped the rust. Then I experimented with some self made outlandish mixtures... Finally I used acrylic to restore the sanded areas and a self made pigmented wax to harmonize the different surfaces: rusty spots and areas, primer and top coat. It gaves the painting also a fine gleam.

    Looking very nice, Ralph. Have you built it up yet and I've missed the picture?
