Oh god, this is all so depressing. I had my bike stolen last night as well.
Although I am a girl, not that easily upset, but i was literally crying into the arms of a stranger on the street...
Now i've been scouring the streets in my car trying to spot blue bikes, like some crazed hunter...
My friend custom built it for me with vintage and new bits and bobs. I'm looking for some picts, but i'm not so good at keeping records etc, just liked riding it. Now i have to get the bloody tube to work.
-single speed fixed wheel, smallish frame- i'm 5'6"
-turquoisy blue bright frame with quite allot of scratches and dents with red/white paint flakes showing through.
-honey brown brooks womens saddle with some scratches from a jeans stud pocket error of judgement.
-matching brooks bar tape on bullhorn bars with one cork bar end and one silver one, had a cork end stolen last week, but i guess that's the last of my worries now.
-anodised silver paul front brake
-vintage campagnolo front brake- frame drilled to accomodate
-silver wheels, std rims, front radial spokes
-white vittoria tyres
-silver crank, pedals, toe clips, quill stem, seat post
-royal blue christophe leather toe straps
-white bell with clubs, spades, hearts, diamonds print (from a holiday to japan so never even seen one anywhere else)
-shimano headset- in cheap plasticy gray- which was the last thing i was looking to replace...
Was chained to a bike post outside the Stag pub Fleet Road, London, NW3. Hampstead near overground Heath rail station, M&S, Royal free hospital...who'd have thought a posh area would accommodate such thieving bastards. I'd been pond swimming and stopped in for a drink. Friend left at 5 and was still there, but i'd got chatting to some people and left at 9- it had gone. Bouncers on the door due to a wedding reception got there at 6 and told me it wasn't there then. So, main road in broad daylight...
I know i shouldn't have to, but i will pay to get this back. if anyone sees it for silly cheap, please buy it and i'll reimburse you and make you a cake or something as well. I would actually like to run over the fucker who took it, but i just start to sound like a mad woman...i am pretty angry though.
Good luck to anyone else and fingers crossed for all stolen bikes to be returned to their rightful owners. Already looking, brick lane, gumtree, ebay...
thankyou, Thida
Sorry.. Try and find a photo and post it.
Chains are weak, buy a New York Lock and quick release seat post = Brookes = thief magnet.
