  • Any one know an Alan expert

  • I have an Alan alu carb frame and haven't a clue??

  • Hello, world, from a Birmingham-based newb. I am new both to the forum and to the FG/SS world, but this site has already proved to be a valuable resource, so - thanks!

  • Hi All

I am new - I will probably be shunned though as my bike has 24 gears! I only joined up as I wanted to thank a cyclist who tried to help me with my broken chain this morning. Seems I need to wait 24 hours though!

  • Why not get another bike, Roaders? Just think of all those visitors to whom you have to lend bikes. (That was one of my first excuses, anyway.) :)

    Welcome.

  • Hi, 2nd of my 3 posts to start

bicicletta666, please read the first post in this thread first:

  • I think that oliver is being very gentle.

Please consider what you type in your first post. Having a second post with something trivial does not look good.

  • Hiya!

I'm Joe and have been riding single speed on a mended dawes frame that was my granddads for a while now, but fancy having a play around with fixed soon as I need new wheels following a freak buckle of the back wheel and it just looks so fun! so i thought i'd join in here.

Other than bikes I like playing drums and taking pictures (http://heavisides.tumblr.com if you're interested - shameless, i know!)

    thanks!

  • hello all ive just signed up im after some info on a holdsworth zephyr im building.
so will be asking around soon and i will get a build thread on the go to.

  • Welcome & don't start a thread for your build, put it here instead.

  • Hello, just finished my Bob Jackson Vigorelli build which is my second fix. Will hopefully add some pics to the projects thread soon.

  • Hi all,
I'm new to the idea that bikes are more than something your mom buys for you when you're a kid and to be honest I don't understand half the sh!t you guys are talking about but damn-it! I wanna learn.
    Cheers
    Scott

    hi, and neither do we

  • Where is can haz faecebuk?

  • In that case, I ride a grimley widowmaker with a spring fix sprocket, a crapper saddle, wingtip doodle-nikky and a slaphound winkle pusher. Oh, and my wheels are hexagonal - i like the vibration...

  • You'll be just fine Scott, just fine son. Is it the Widowmaker with the softtail bush, the pre '74 model that Hertzelspepper won the Lumley étape on?

    Nice whip if so.

  • oops...forgot to quote above...
    that was in relpy to:

Actually, I opted for the Brazilian instead of the softtail bush. Less abrasive.

  • Blew out the tyre in my old 2nd hand mountain bike and decided to upgrade.

Looking at getting a SE lager in the next couple off weeks, hope my knees hold up!

Controversial. You heard it here first kids.

  • Yo , Yo, Newby Greenback here.

Soon to have an '09 Dolan Track Champion to my name.
Typically more of a steel butted fan, but nonetheless looking forward to building this brute !
Get me out of this nursery please !

  • No really. I want out.

Ha ha , thanks Chainbreaker now I don't feel so awkward.

Once upon a time I had a Benotto road from the mid 80's which confused me immensely because I thought they were Italian but turns out they moved production to Mexico, which explains why mine was stamped with a 'tour of Venezuela' decal. Silver soldered butted Columbus it was real nice. So I ran it into the ground commuting from Old St to Richmond. shame, it was probably worth a bit.
    Hence I need a fixie !

This shop recently opened below where I live. Thoroughly approve of what he's doing bringing some bike culture to the hood >>> for all your vintage steel needs. Enjoy !
