or just glue in a ball bearing in your allen bolt.
or just glue a nut that fit perfectly inside the allen bolt.

yeh i thought about the ball bearing idea... but a) it would look gash, and b) be a bit inconvenient
especially for my bmx where i want to adjust the saddle height often... though i am mainly thinking about my road bike

how would it look gash when it's nicely hidden inside the bolt??

I would only consider these if I knew I could achieve the proper torque. can you?

My old man knocked up a load of plastic plugs for me with a small hole in the middle. Tap them into the allen key bolt to stop it being tampered with and when you want to adjust your bars, seat etc, you use a small screw and a pair of pliers to remove it. Can be a bit of a bugger to get the smaller ones out and it's not so good if you're adjusting things all the time but stops people robbing bits off your bike.

A friend of mine has them for his front wheel, they work great. Just don't loose the key ;-)

Did him buy them from the states?
Do you know if it was easy to get them to delivery to the UK?

Why not replace the allen bolts with torx bolts?
Unusual enough that thieves are unlikely to be carrying a set of the appropriate bits but common enough that you can have a set to work on the bike. -

Every little helps, if you can afford it, why not

thought about torx, and allen keys with a pin. Agree with LouisQ, anything that makes it even a bit harder is better than nothing

Yay or nay?
Had my handle bars nicked recently (quite a surprise tbh!) So half considering replacing all the allen bolts on my rad with these!
Thoughts?
