Evans Cycles replaced my worn out 18T single speed, with a 16T without checking with me. After a couple of weeks of hard hill climbing, Crystal Palace and Anerley Hill, I realised what they had done and spoke to them. They came up with a story that Shimano no longer make a 18T and "everybody" rides a 16T. They offered to order some expensive alternative that cost about £100. Strangely after checking the web I found quite a few suppliers of a Shimano 18T, interestingly Evans are showing 18T's as discontinued. Just for completeness, does any one know if Shimano have stopped making 18T single speeds?
