On the other hand, all the old Campag stuff on my bike (c 1997) still works as well as it did when new.
That just means you don't use it enough.

LOL, probably. Mind you, two kids and a busy job means I don't get out as much as I'd like to. But I have replaced bit such as chains, sprockets, brake blocks, cables etc and the Campag bits still keep on working :-)

Aesthetics is for people who take lots of pictures of their bikes instead of riding them.
Taking pictures? Not likely. I had it painted in oils ;-)

you lot have no class, i exhumed Alberto Giacometti and reanimated his corpse, i then had him build a 1/32 scale maquette of my bike until i was satisfied with his work.
the life size model is currently at the foundry having sprue removed and it's final polish. (it's made from a melted down Barbera Hepworth and a Henry Moore) -

(it's made from a melted down Barbera Hepworth and a Henry Moore)That's nothing, I got him to build an exact 1/100th scale model of my bike using exactly the correct materials for each component, including decals and serial numbers, right down to the correct psi in the tyres. Then I got him to encase it in a bottle.
Once satisfied with his work, I put out his eyes and cut his hands off so nobody else might profit from his expertise.

My bike is about to be encrusted in diamonds and put in a tank of formaldehyde by Damian Hirst, before Tracy Emin writes the names of all her former lovers on the frame whilst Grayson Perry knits a saddle cover for it.
Now that's class!
